The Importance of a Certificate of Location

It goes without saying that no one likes last minute surprises, especially at the notary’s office. If you are planning to sell your home, be proactive and order a new certificate of location as soon as possible. They generally cost $800-$1000 and are valid for 10 years! If there are any issues that need to be resolved, it certainly can be stressful trying to contact the surveyor, the municipality, and the notary, in a panic before the signing. Our pro tip is to get ahead of the game and order one as soon as your house is listed! It can save both you and your buyer a lot of headaches.
